The Osaka Integrated Resort (IR) development project in Japan, considered a game-changer for the global casino industry, entered its full-scale construction phase as of August 2026. Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City announced that they have completed soil stabilization work in the Yumeshima area and have commenced construction of core building infrastructure. As Japan's first casino integrated resort, this project focuses on maximizing the attraction of global tourists and generating significant regional economic impact.
Infrastructure and Groundwork Progress
Large-scale infrastructure construction is currently underway at the Osaka IR site. Due to the nature of the Yumeshima reclaimed land, soil strengthening is a critical challenge, and the project is utilizing the latest engineering techniques to ensure stability. Authorities stated that the main structural design for major buildings is expected to be completed by the second half of 2026, with full-scale superstructure construction beginning next year. The facility will combine a casino with a large exhibition and convention center, luxury hotels, and commercial facilities to become a new hub for Asian tourism.
