Macau, a key hub for the international casino industry, recorded remarkable growth in the first half of 2026. According to the Macau Statistics and Census Service and industry insiders, total casino revenue from January to June rose by more than 15% compared to the same period last year. This is considered the peak of the recovery trend that has persisted since the pandemic.
The Effectiveness of the Integrated Resort Strategy
Behind this revenue growth lies the integrated resort transformation strategy adopted by casino operators. Expanding non-gaming facilities—such as shopping, conventions, and performances—beyond simple gaming spaces has successfully increased the length of tourist stays. In particular, major large-scale resorts in Macau have strengthened their offerings of theme parks and luxury malls for families, successfully capturing demand from those seeking entertainment beyond gambling.
